Is Glitchspin Casino Legit?
Although Glitchspin has a, quite frankly, fantastic collection of games and bonuses, ultimately it fails the most vital test: it’s not a legitimate online casino. At least, that’s how it appears to us – admittedly, determining the legitimacy of a gambling site has always been more of an art than a science, and so we’re prone to errors. If you disagree and think it can be trusted, then more power to you! But, as we’ll explain in detail just below, we just don’t think it’s worth the risk. If anything, it feels like the site is deliberately trying to deceive players like you into thinking it’s legit, relying on you not looking deeper.
Who is the Glitchspin Casino’s owner?
This casino’s owner is, as of the time of writing, completely unknown. “But how can this be,” you may ask, “isn’t it listed in the footer?” Well, no, it isn’t – all it says is that, and we quote directly here, “this website owned and operated by a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus.” Really? Which company? What’s its name? Why isn’t it listed here or in the Terms and Conditions? Furthermore, Glitchspin has provided two registration addresses (one for Cyprus and one for Curacao), and both of them are already in use by dozens, if not hundreds of online casinos – mostly with dubious legal status. It appears to be a ‘tax haven’ address instead of a genuine office, which begs the question: if you don’t know what company owns and operates this site, and you don’t even know where it’s located, can you trust it at all?
Glitchspin Casino license
Casino licenses are mandatory in most regions, and even where they aren’t, they’re still very good to have. After all, the regulator (who issues this license to the casino) will be responsible for monitoring it and making sure it doesn’t cheat players, which means that, at least in theory, licensed casinos are a lot safer than their unlicensed counterparts. And look at that, Glitchspin claims to be licensed by Curacao! Case closed, right? Not quite: the site fails to provide any evidence to support their claim. It hasn’t offered a license number, nor a link to the certificate on Curacao’s website. And without knowing the parent company, it’s impossible for us to do the background check ourselves. Anyone can claim they’re legally licensed, but when they operate on the principle of “trust me, bro,” is it worth taking the risk?
Glitchspin Casino complaints & disputes
Regulators aren’t there just for show, you know. Their job is to keep players safe from potential scams and other unsavory business that an online casino could get up to. If you get scammed by a license casino, you could potentially hurt them quite badly by filing a dispute with the regulating body. But in turn, that begs the question: if a casino is unlicensed, what can you do to seek justice for being scammed?
As you might have guessed, the answer is “not that much”. You can try to reach out to them via email, or seek a third party arbitration service, but the truth is that if Glitchspin decides to steal your winnings, there is nothing you can do about it. You can’t even sue them because, well, who would you even sue? What company are you filing against, and at what address do you serve them a court summons? That’s precisely the reason why we strongly recommend against playing at unlicensed casinos. The risk simply isn’t worth it.
