Is Wonaco Casino Legit?
The question of whether an online casino can be truly considered legitimate or not is a complicated one, and requires the careful examination of a number of different factors. Sometimes, you can come to a definitive response, a binary yes or no. Other times, though, the answer is more complicated, and unfortunately, that’s precisely the case here at Wonaco Casino. As we’ll go on to explain in the paragraphs below, the site has many things that could be considered red flags, and yet, its overall reputation with players is good. Which means that, if we were to answer the question “is this site legit”, we’d give a cautious “yes”, with an asterisk.
Who is the Wonaco Casino’s owner?
Wonaco is owned and operated by Liernin LTD, a company whose name you almost certainly don’t recognize. However, it has been known by many names over the years, perhaps most famously Rabidi N.V. Rabidi used to have a pretty solid grasp of the casino market, with dozens of casinos under their belt – casinos they still own, mind you, but some have been rebranded. Normally, this would be a huge red flag – and yet, surprisingly enough, the audience that played at these casinos seems to have stuck around through the transition. As such, it’s likely that the changes in branding happened due to legal issues (perhaps related to the license) rather than because of a scam or something similar.
Wonaco Casino license
In order to operate legally, every online casino must have a license issued by a proper casino regulator. If you’ve ever entered a casino site and gotten a message that people from your country are not allowed to play there, chances are it’s a licensing issue – perhaps the license the casino has isn’t recognized as legal in your country, or simply excludes it from the coverage. Whatever the case may be, the important note here is that an unlicensed casino is bad news.
On paper, Wonaco does have a license – from the Philippines. Back during their Rabidi N.V. days, the owners of Wonaco used to have a Curacao license, but since licenses are issued to companies rather than sites, that must have gotten lost during the restructuring we described above. Normally, that’s all well and good, as the two licenses are pretty much equivalent in terms of features and covered countries. However, it’s important to note that Wonaco Casino has not provided any way to verify the validity of their Philippines license, like they had when they still held a Curacao one. So keep that in the back of your mind.
Wonaco Casino complaints & disputes
Oh, no! It seems like Wonaco Casino has scammed you after all – or at least, you’re pretty sure they have! What to do now? Well, the option to report them to PAGCOR, the Philippines gambling authority that has issued their license, is always an option. They’ll investigate the issue and, if deemed necessary, the casino will be penalized for this transgression.
But before you do that, we at Casinos.CC would advise you to send Wonaco an e-mail to check up on them and make sure that it was a scam after all. Sometimes something that looks extremely scamy turns out to be nothing more than human error, or a problem with a third party institution (for example, your bank). By sending them a polite e-mail first, you’re giving Wonaco a chance to explain the problem and, hopefully, help you reach a solution before it escalates.
